S Murray & Co has been manufacturing quality surgical instruments in Sheffield for over 50 years. During that time, we have grown to become one of the largest, owner-managed surgical manufactures in Britain today, with a number of key milestones 1948 - Acquisition of George Gill & Son (Surgical) Ltd, manufactures of high quality Sheffield-made surgical instruments. 1990 - Acquisition of Nowlin & Son. 1999 - Acquisition of Heeley Surgical 2003 - Building of and relocation to new, purpose -built factory Over the years, we have always kept the quality of our products at the fore, becoming one of the first healthcare companies to obtain BS5750 certification in 1991. Specializing in the manufacture of traditional British patterns of instruments, the skill of our staff gained from years of experience, can both be seen and felt in the instruments we manufacture today. In October 2003, we moved into our new, purpose-built factory, still in the Sheffield area. The modern 10,000 sq ft facility provides and ideal location to blend the traditional, skilled craftsmanship of instrument manufacture with the flexibility and economies of manufacturing today. The site currently houses manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and stock holding of both finished products and raw material.
